The plasma process represents the major technological evolution of the TIG process: a central plasmagenic gas is brought to a plasma state by an electric arc established between a refractory electrode and the workpiece to be welded.

The arc thus created passes through a nozzle with a narrowed outlet, giving it high energy.
The welds produced are of high metallurgical quality, dimensionally accurate and exceptionally attractive. It is possible to weld very thin parts (0.05 mm in the case of micro-plasma).
This process is used in the medical, food and aeronautics sectors, and for all small parts.
Plasma welding is one of EWM's specialties.
